A driver crashed through a fence and drove straight into a swimming pool at a Massachusetts campground on Sunday, and somehow no one was injured.

The Monson Police Department and Fire Department responded to the Sunsetview Farm Camping Area on Town Farm Road shortly after 1 p.m. Sunday following a report that a vehicle had entered a swimming pool.

Police said the driver of a red SUV “narrowly” missed swimmers in the pool. The fire department said all occupants got out of the vehicle before first responders arrived.

“We would like thank off duty fire personnel from Wales, Palmer and Springfield who assisted people out of the pool and secured the area prior to our arrival,” the fire department said. Fire personnel evaluated six patients at the scene.

Photos shared by the police department show the SUV submerged in the pool, which is enclosed by a chain-link fence that appears flattened where the SUV drove through it.

A photo shared by the fire department shows the vehicle being lifted out of the pool by a truck-mounted crane.

Police described the incident as an accident. They did not immediately indicate whether the driver would face charges.

“We are very thankful that no one was injured this afternoon,” Sunsetview Farm Camping Area said in a statement posted on social media. “A horrible incident with the best possible outcome, no one was hurt. Thank you to everyone who jumped in to help.”
