In a provocative move, South Park has unleashed a scathing reply to the criticism leveled by Kristi Noem regarding the show's portrayal of her character.
On Saturday, August 9, the animated series updated its social media profile picture to feature a cartoon version of the 53-year-old United States Secretary of Homeland Security. In this illustrative jab, Noem’s character is decked out in an ICE uniform, depicted with a notably distorted and unappealing visage.
The long-running sitcom first stimulated controversy in the second episode of its 27th season, aptly titled "Got a Nut," which aired on August 6. This particular episode showcases Noem's animated form engaging in outrageous antics—specifically shooting multiple dogs, an apparent nod to a past incident where she infamously shot her 14-month-old pet—and conducting ICE raids, all while her face appears grotesquely melting in need of assistance from a glam team to look presentable.
Following the episode's airing, Noem took to "The Glenn Beck Program" podcast on August 7 to express her dismay. "It never ends. But it’s so lazy to just constantly make fun of women for how they look," she lamented. "It’s always the liberals and extremists who do that."
