Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson died Sunday at age 79 following a battle with multiple health conditions, his family announced.

The Louisiana native starred on the A&E reality series Duck Dynasty from 2012 to 2017, alongside his wife, Kay, their sons, grandchildren and other family members as they ran Duck Commander, the duck hunting gear business Robertson founded in the 1970s with his signature duck call.

My dad has gone to be with the Lord today!” Robertson’s son, Jase, wrote on X. “He will be missed but we know he is in good hands, and our family is good because God is very good! We will see him again!”

Robertson’s son Willie Robertson and his wife Korie shared news of his death in a joint Instagram post late Sunday.

“We celebrate today that our father, husband, and grandfather, Phil Robertson, is now with the Lord,” the couple wrote. “We know so many of you love him and have been impacted by his life. Were having a private service for now, but well share details soon about a public celebration of his life.”

Robertson’s family publicly revealed in December 2024 that he had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, and it had accelerated.

A&E recently announced Duck Dynasty: The Revival, is set to follow Willie and Korie as they lead the next generation of Robertsons in the family business. The series is set to premiere June 1.
