Rep. Cory Mills (R-FL) is being evicted from his Washington, D.C., penthouse after failing to pay his rent, according to a report.

Daily Beast reporter Roger Sollenberger posted on X that the owner is claiming that Mills owes him $85,000 in unpaid rent. The monthly rent for the penthouse $20,833.

"He was served with notice for failure to pay in January. Ledger shows he paid late nearly every month since moving in, missing several months entirely," said Sollenberger.

Mills was given until Feb. 26 to pay. However, on Feb. 20, Mills' girlfriend reported him to police for attacking her at the penthouse. She later recanted the report.

It's unclear if he vacated the property, as the documents also said he failed to pay rent from March to July.

Around that same time, the House Ethics Committee opened an investigation into Mills for entering into, holding, or enjoying contracts with federal agencies while serving in Congress.

Mills and his wife own two companies titled “Pacem Defense/ALS” which have "received nearly $1,000,000 for munition and weapons for prisons, the report found," while "another entity, Pacem Solutions, entered into a contract with the federal government last May for about $11,600," reported Politico at the time.

Sollenberger also reported that Mills' company is underwater as well.

"They got bad news earlier this month, when its lender told investors that the investment fund supporting his company had failed and would be shut down," the reporter said, uploading documents to X.
