Vice President JD Vance sparred with a former official from the Biden administration on X, sparking some to threaten the Biden official’s dog.
Kelly Magsamen, who served as the chief of staff to the United States Secretary of Defense in the Biden administration, said, “Super cool that our @secdef [Pete Hegseth] was chilling last night knowing we were going to have a war in the Middle East tonight.”
Her condemnation came in response to the DOD Rapid Response X post, which said, "America’s @SecDef [handshake emoji] America’s favorite pastime.” The post showed the current Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, with [presumably] his family attending the congressional baseball game.
When Vance saw Magsamen’s reply, he then replied to her, saying, “Super cool that our SecDef [sic] wasn’t in a hospital without notifying the public.” Which was a notable dig at Biden’s Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and his team, which included Magsamen, who did not notify the public about a medical procedure he had, which landed him in intensive care days later.
According to an AP report from January 2024, “Biden and several other senior leaders were kept in the dark about it for days.”
The comments from the MAGA verse were brutal on Magsamen, with one user threatening Magsamen’s dog. “I feel bad for Arlo. Having to call this woman, Mom. How come you didn’t let the world know your boss went MIA for a month? O right. We don’t want to address the inconvenient parts that cause you distress,” @mitchUAPknicks, who has just 480 followers, said.
Magsamen said, “I will call the police if you screw with my dog.”
